Is Blotter Art Legal?
Short answer: the blotter art prints sold by Psychedelic Gallery contain no controlled substances and are legal to buy, sell, and own — they ship worldwide. A separate line of "Magic Ink" variants contains 1P-LSD and ships within the Netherlands only, in full compliance with Dutch law.
Art prints contain no controlled substances
The overwhelming majority of collectible blotter art — including the standard prints in our collection — is simply ink on archival perforated paper. There is no active or controlled substance involved. These pieces are art for contemplation and display, in the same way a poster or a fine-art print is. Because of that, they are legal to own and we ship them internationally.
The Magic Ink program and 1P-LSD
Some designs are also offered with our proprietary Magic Ink — a carefully formulated mixture of alcohol-based food dye and 1P-LSD (1-propionyl-lysergic acid diethylamide).
1P-LSD is not a scheduled substance under the Dutch Opium Act (the Opiumwet), nor does it fall under the new-psychoactive-substance groups banned under List IA (effective July 2025), which cover only phenethylamines, synthetic cannabinoids, and fentanyl-like substances. As a commodity sold within the Netherlands, the Magic Ink program is fully compliant with Dutch law.
For that reason, Magic Ink items ship exclusively within the Netherlands. The art-print versions of those same designs remain available for worldwide shipping.
